The Night of Samhain

The inaugural Ocean Immersed solo exhibition occurred on October 31, 2021, aligning symbolically with Samhain, which is a night traditionally believed to dissolve the boundaries between this world and the supernatural. This date was chosen deliberately, underscoring the exhibition’s exploration of the subconscious, inner mythologies, and liminal states of being.

Hosted in a raw, industrial open-space venue, the installation featured a series of paintings arranged in a semicircular formation at the heart of the hall. This spatial composition evoked the architecture of a ritual site or sacred chamber, inviting viewers into a contemplative, almost ceremonial experience. The artworks stood illuminated against the surrounding darkness, transforming the venue into a symbolic threshold – part gallery, part inner temple – where visitors could engage with personal archetypes and collective emotions through reflection and immersion.

The exhibition marked the first public presentation of the Ocean Immersed series, a body of work that bridges psychological introspection with abstract visual storytelling.
